Monday, 6 October
Press conference with the mayor and mayors before the October meeting of the City Council (PM 561 of 01 October 2014).

Building Mayor Petra Wesseler is representing the City of Chemnitz at EXPO REAL in Munich. The presentation from 6 to 8 October will focus on the further development of Chemnitz city centre and the Smart Systems Campus. Modern wood art works by the artist group "exponaRt" will be on display in the exhibition room of Chemnitz town hall until the beginning of January 2015. The exhibition will be opened by Katrin Voigt, Head of the Cultural Office (PM 560 from 01.10.2014).

"The Art of Omission - Twenty Positions of Drawing Purely from the Line" is the motto of the new exhibition at the Neue Sächsische Galerie. The exhibition, which is supported by the City of Chemnitz and the Neue Chemnitzer Kunsthütte association, is on display until 7 December. Information: www.nsg-chemnitz.de

The psychological thriller "Die Schmerzen der Krieger" by Oliver Pautsch, a production by the drama studio at the municipal theatres, has its premiere.

Invitation to a family concert with a performance of new music by young composers (PM 559 from 01.10.2014). Organised by the Städtische Musikschule Chemnitz together with the Dr.-Wilhelm-André-Gymnasium.

Premiere of the puppet theatre play "Die Kuh Rosemarie" for children aged four and over by Andri Beyeler in a production by Matthias Thieme. Information: www.theater-chemnitz.de

Sunday, 12 October
Traditionally, the season at the Rabenstein reservoir ends with a big kite festival. The 17th edition is organised by Eissport und Freizeit GmbH Chemnitz and includes a model ship and hydroplane show, tombola, pony rides and children's carousels. Information: www.stausee-rabenstein.de
