Mayor Barbara Ludwig welcomes the participants of the 6th Children and Youth Conference, which is taking place this year for the first time on three days (6, 13, 20 November), staggered according to age groups. On the first day of the conference, pupils from years 8 to 12 will meet (PM 660 from 01.11.2012).

Mayor Barbara Ludwig takes part in the executive committee meeting of the Saxon Association of Towns and Municipalities.

Mayor Barbara Ludwig accepts a funding cheque from the East German Savings Banks Association to support the city of Chemnitz as host city of the 2013 German Music Festival (PM 669 from 02.11.2012).

Friday, 9 November
Mayor Barbara Ludwig speaks at the City of Chemnitz commemorative event in memory of the victims of the pogrom night of 9 November 1938 (PM 668 from 02.11.2012).
Time and place: 10 a.m., memorial stele on Stephanplatz.
Mayor Barbara Ludwig takes part in the handover of the "Great Chemnitzers" project initiated by the Rotary Club of Chemnitz. The Mayor's Office and the City Planning Office are involved in the conceptual preparation of the project, which is free of charge for the city (see information document I-045/2012).

Residents' meeting for the Chemnitz South urban area (PM 665 from 02.11.2012).

The puppet theatre will premiere the classic "Was ihr wollt". Jan Mixsa, who also designed the set, is responsible for staging the performance based on Shakespeare's comedy.

Saturday, 10 November
Premiere of the ballet "Nutcracker and Mouse King" by Jochen Ulrich, who is also responsible for the choreography and staging. After "Swan Lake", "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King" is Tchaikovsky's best-known ballet. The musical director of the Chemnitz performance is Tobias Engeli.

Sunday, 11 November
To mark the traditional start of the "fifth season", Mayor Barbara Ludwig hands over the keys to the town hall to the representatives of the Chemnitz carnival clubs.
