Monday, 30 June
Mayor Barbara Ludwig attends the laying of the foundation stone for the MERGE Technology Centre (MTC). The new research hall for the Federal Cluster of Excellence "Technology Fusion for Multifunctional Lightweight Structures" (MERGE) of Chemnitz University of Technology is being built on the campus on Reichenhainer Straße directly behind the lecture theatre building.

Mayor Barbara Ludwig will give a welcome address at the event to mark the 20th anniversary of the Chemnitz Addiction Counselling Centre.

Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig chairs the meeting of the Supervisory Board of Chemnitzer Wirtschaftsförderungs- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH (CWE).

Mayor Barbara Ludwig and the Chemnitz advertising agency Zebra present the strategic communication and marketing concept of the City of Chemnitz in a club consultation at the invitation of the Chemnitz City Sports Association.

An international conference "Pieter Bruegel the Elder and Religion" will be held in Chemnitz and Dresden from 3 to 5 July to accompany the Pieter Bruegel exhibition on display at the Chemnitz Art Collections until 6 July.
Opening of the Film Nights in Chemnitz: The evening open-air cinema on Theaterplatz will run from 3 July to 31 August. The programme also includes a Chemnitz short film night and a Chemnitz classical music night, the Helge Schneider night and the MDR concert show "Sommer bei uns".

Public meeting of the district election committee on the approval of the district election proposals for the state parliamentary election on 31 August 2014 for the state parliamentary constituencies 10 Chemnitz 1, 11 Chemnitz 2 and 12 Chemnitz 3 (PM 373 from 26.06.2014).

Premiere for the summer theatre of the drama ensemble on the Küchwaldbühne: The programme includes "Pippi Longstocking" with Magda Decker in the title role of the classic by Astrid Lindgren (1907-2002) with music by Georg Riedel. Stefan Wolfram is responsible for the direction and the Chemnitz composer and musician Steffan Claußner for the musical rehearsals.

Saturday, 5 July
A fixed date in the Chemnitz running calendar is the annual Chemnitz Marathon, organised under the patronage of the Mayor of Chemnitz, Barbara Ludwig. As in previous years, participants in the sporting event will once again include runners from Chemnitz's twin cities (PM 376 and 377 from 27 June 2014).
