Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig takes part in the two-day meeting of the jury to decide on the remodelling of the Aktienspinnerei.

Friday, 1 February

Mayor Barbara Ludwig gives a welcome speech at the New Year's reception of the Bundesverband mittelständische Wirtschaft Chemnitz (BVMW).

Saturday, 2 February

Premiere of the first performance of the revised version of Giacomo Meyerbeer's opera "Vasco da Gama (The African Woman)". Jakob Peters-Messer is responsible for the staging of the performance in French with German surtitles, the musical director is GMD Frank Beermann.

Time and place: 6 pm, Chemnitz Opera House.

Notes: The Chemnitz performance will be broadcast by Deutschlandradio Kultur in two parts on Saturday, 9 March, from 19:05 and on Sunday, 10 March, from 20:03. A CD will also be produced with the cpo label. On the weekend of the premiere, an academic colloquium will take place from Friday 1 to Sunday 3 February in collaboration with the Municipal Theatres and the TUC / Romance Cultural Studies.
