The 41st mining parade takes place in Chemnitz. Once again, over 1,000 participants will present this tradition: Around 700 people in uniform, 388 mountain musicians and 32 mountain singers form the annual highlight on the day before 1 Advent with their impressive procession. The route leads from Theaterplatz, Karl-Liebknecht-Straße, Richard-Tauber-Straße, Straße der Nationen, Brückenstraße to the square in front of the Stadthalle. There, the participants will be welcomed by Mayor Barbara Ludwig and Saxony's Minister of the Environment Thomas Schmidt.

Chemnitzer FC welcomes KFC Uerdingen 05 for a home match in the 3rd Bundesliga.

The ballet "Nutcracker" based on a story by E.T.A. Hoffmann and music by Peter Tchaikovsky has its premiere. Ballet director Sabrina Sadowska and the Chemnitz Ballet, together with the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Orchestra, are bringing this favourite work of many ballet fans to the Chemnitz Opera House as a new production
