Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig presents the City of Chemnitz's honorary award to Stefan Weber, the city's long-serving tower keeper. The award ceremony will take place as part of a festive event (you will receive a separate press release about this).
Time and place: 3 p.m., Chemnitz City Hall, City Council Chamber.
Opening of the special exhibition "ANDREAS FELGER - Painting like breathing. Paintings and Sketchbooks" with the President of the German Bundestag, Prof Dr Norbert Lammert. On display will be large-format oil paintings by the artist from his creative phase from 2002 to 2012 and a selection of his numerous sketchbooks.
Time and place: 7 pm, Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz, Museum am Theaterplatz.
Premiere of "llustrate Illyria!" based on "What You Will" by William Shakespeare. Yves Hinrichs is responsible for the production, Janine Henkel is responsible for the set and version.

Saturday, 29 September
Premiere of "Sophocles: Oedipus, Tyrant" based on Hölderlin by Heiner Müller - Dieter Boyer is responsible for the production, Ralph Zeger for stage and costumes.

Sunday, 30 September
Festive anniversary concert to mark the 195th anniversary of the founding of the Singakademie Chemnitz. The concert will feature Haydn's "Nelson Mass" and the Magnificat by John Rutter, conducted by Andreas Pabst.
Time and place: 3 pm, Opera House.
