Mayor Barbara Ludwig takes part in the information event organised by the state dam administration with the citizens' initiative "Hochwasserschutz Würschnitztal".

Under the motto "Libraries broaden horizons", Chemnitz City Library and TU University Library will be jointly presenting a programme from 23 October for the "Treffpunkt Bibliothek" campaign week organised throughout Germany from 24 to 31 October 2012 under the patronage of the Federal President. Wednesday, 24 October
Mayor Barbara Ludwig visits the city of Lodz on 24 and 25 October 2012. The reason for the visit to the Polish twin city is the 2nd Twin Cities Forum.

Friday, 26 October
Mayor Barbara Ludwig receives members of the SPD parliamentary group in the European Parliament for talks. Note for media representatives: There will be an opportunity for a photo opportunity when the parliamentarians arrive, 3 pm, at the entrance to the Town Hall (Neumarkt).
Time and place: 3 p.m., Chemnitz City Hall.
The reason for the visit of the parliamentarians from the Aachen city region to Chemnitz is the annual educational trip, which this year is travelling to cities in the new federal states. Following the discussion in Chemnitz Town Hall, city planner Börries Butenop will accompany the guests on a tour of Chemnitz city centre.
10th Chemnitz Sports Night: The traditional recreational tournament for participants aged 16 to 25 determines the winners in the football and volleyball categories. The event is organised by the Mobile Youth Work project of the Chemnitz City Mission.
Time and place: Admission from 7 p.m., matches start at 8 p.m., Richard-Hartmann-Halle.
Saturday, 27 October
The Chemnitz Art Collections invite you to two special events at the Gunzenhauser Museum: "Paint your own Dix" is the motto of the afternoon Family Day, followed by the 7th Young Art Night in the evening, which invites you to take a closer look at the museum's current exhibition with the oft-quoted phrase "Is this art or can it go?".
