Monday, 2 September
Mayor Berthold Brehm welcomes the new trainees and students to the start of their training at the City of Chemnitz (PM 552 from 28 August 2013).

Wednesday, 4 September
The organisers are expecting 3,500 runners for the 8th Chemnitz company run. The start and finish is in Brückenstraße. Visitors should also take note of the traffic information (PM 558 from 30/08/2013). Information: www.firmenlauf-chemnitz.de

Friday, 6 September
Mayor Miko Runkel gives the official starting signal for the Erzgebirge Historic Rally on 6 and 7 September. The two-day event is organised under the patronage of the Mayor of Chemnitz.
The award ceremony will take place on Saturday evening at 7 p.m. at Wasserschloß Klaffenbach.

Saturday, 7 September
Chemnitz is hosting the 1st International Hikers' Puppet Meeting, organised under the patronage of the Lord Mayor. The occasion is the 100th anniversary of the first mass-produced Wanderer car - the "Wanderer Puppchen". Mayor Philipp Rochold welcomes the participants of the meeting at the arrival of the "Wanderer Puppchen" in Chemnitz.
Time and place: 11.30 a.m., Neumarkt at the town hall.
The Chemnitz Municipal Theatres start the new season with a big theatre festival in and around the opera house: from 12 noon, the house opens its doors to visitors and invites them to stage tours and costume sales, among other things. The evening open-air concert by the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Orchestra with soloists and the theatre choir will be conducted by GMD Frank Beermann together with Tom Bitterlich and the newly appointed 1st Kapellmeister Felix Bender.

The 60th anniversary of the sports school will be celebrated with a ceremony. Brunhild Kurth, Saxon Minister of State for Culture, will give the keynote speech. Mayor Philipp Rochold will give the City of Chemnitz's welcoming address.
Time and place: 16:30, Aula Sportmittelschule.

Festive event to award the prizes in the 5th International Marianne Brandt Competition "Poetry of the Functional" in the presence of the Saxon State Minister for Science and the Arts, Prof. Dr Sabine von Schorlemer, and the Mayor of Chemnitz, Philipp Rochold.

Press spokeswoman Katja Uhlemann speaks at the opening of the International IARIGAI Conference on Print and Media Technology at Chemnitz University of Technology.
The "Printing Future Days" 2013 will take place from 8 to 12 September.
