The Fête de la Musique will once again take place in Chemnitz at the beginning of summer. A diverse musical programme on four stages around the Stadthallenpark will once again bring music to the city centre. Last year, the Fête attracted around 7000 visitors.

The German Road Cycling Championships are taking place in Chemnitz until 25 June. The race starts today with the women's and men's U23 individual time trial and the men's individual time trial.

After last year's premiere, the "summerbreak" festival is back again. In addition to concerts, there will be an adventure mobile for climbing, a slackline and a skate ramp for sporting challenges.

"My Fair Lady" - based on Bernhard Shaw - is one of the most popular musicals of all time. The entertaining story about the flower girl Eliza Doolittle celebrates its premiere as a major open-air event. The production by Erik Petersen features soloists from Chemnitz Opera such as Katharina Boschmann and Franziska Krötenheerdt as Eliza and Matthias Winter as Professor Higgins.
