This year's traditional Kunsthütte festival is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Neue Chemnitzer Kunsthütte e.V., which was re-founded on 24 January 1990 - admission is free.

The one Oldiemasters at the Chemnitz Exhibition Centre: three traditional East German clubs pit their football skills against two traditional clubs from the Bundesliga and a surprise team. The participants include cup defenders Erzgebirge Aue, Chemnitzer FC and a Cottbus all-star team led by coach "Ede" Geyer. The event is presented by the utility company eins energie in Saxony.
