Mayor Barbara Ludwig receives an Israeli delegation from Kiryat Bialik. They are guests at the Days of Jewish Culture in Chemnitz.

Thomas Heumann's daughter and other family members are travelling to Chemnitz for the official handover of three important paintings. Thomas Heumann bequeathed these works of art to the art collections in his will. Thomas Heumann's father, Carl Heumann (1896 - 1945), was an important art collector from Chemnitz. He emigrated to the USA after the Second World War. The handover of the paintings will take place during a press conference.

"And Nietzsche wept" - A play based on the novel by Irvin D. Yalom in a stage version by Kathrin Brune has its premiere. This is a German-language premiere in the translation by Uda Strätling.

World Tourist Guide Day takes place today and tomorrow. This year it is being organised to mark Chemnitz's 875th anniversary under the motto "People who made history".

In the 1st Bundesliga Boxing, the Chemnitzer Wölfe will host their opponents Nordhäuser SV from Thuringia for their 2nd home fight.

The Robert Schumann Philharmonic Orchestra will perform works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Hugo Wolf and Dmitri Shostakovich at the 5th chamber music evening of this season.
