Nancy Gibson, Head of the Chemnitz Municipal Music School, and Ute Kiehn, Managing Director of the Kraftwerk e. V. socio-cultural centre, will present their jointly developed new series of events at a press event (PM 495 from 02.08.2013).

Thursday, 22 August
The 11th Sachsen-Classic will take place from 22 to 24 August 20013 under the patronage of the Mayor of Chemnitz. The traditional event is on the calendar every year in August and this year leads through the Vogtland and the Ore Mountains to Chemnitz.

Friday, 23 August
Winners of the "enviaM - musik aus kommunen" music competition will perform at this year's MDR Music Summer: In Chemnitz, the concert will also be part of the programme celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Industrial Museum.
The 22nd MDR-MUSIKSOMMER invites you to concerts at special venues in Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia until 1 September.

Saturday, 24 August
Mayor Berthold Brehm welcomes the participants of the Sachsen-Classic 2013 classic car rally to their arrival at the finish line and to the presentation of the classic cars in Chemnitz.

Premiere of the Kosmonaut Festival: The new music event was developed by the Chemnitz band Kraftklub together with Chemnitz organisers.
Time and place: 4 p.m. (admission from 3 p.m.), site at the Rabenstein reservoir.

Sunday matinee at the Industrial Museum: "From the State Joint Stock Company of the Non-ferrous Metals Industry "Wismut" to the Federal Company - Wismut GmbH" is the topic of thelecture by Dr Stefan Mann, Managing Director of the Technical Department of Wismut.GmbH. The Junge Kunstfreunde Chemnitz association and musicians from the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Orchestra are once again jointly organising a picnic concert on the Schloßberg. On the programme: music from classical to jazz, activities for the youngest in the museum courtyard and guided tours through the exhibitions of the Schloßberg Museum.
Time and place: 11 a.m. to 2.30 p.m., meadows and park area around the Schloßbergmuseum.
