Monday, 18 November
Mayor Barbara Ludwig congratulates Dr Liebhard Monzer, the long-serving head of Chemnitz's public health department, on his 65th birthday.

Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig congratulates Minister of State Prof Dr Georg Unland on his 60th birthday and accepts the invitation to a reception.

Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig takes part in the meeting of the Central German Metropolitan Region.

Time and place: 10 a.m., Leipzig.

Funeral service for Addi Jacobi from Chemnitz. The well-known journalist and author died on 17 October 2013 at the age of 77.

Time and place: 1.30 pm, Chemnitz Crematorium, Reichenhainer Straße.

Sporting highlight in the Chemnitz Arena: Chemnitz will host the "Grand Prix of Saxony" equestrian and show jumping tournament for the first time from 22 to 24 November. Participants from all over Germany are expected to take part in the tournament.

Mayor Berthold Brehm hands over the trophy together with Reiner Gebhardt, Chairman of the Management Board of eins energie in sachsen.

Saturday, 23 November

Opening of the special exhibition "Imi Knoebel - Fenster für die Kathedrale von Reims" at the Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz in the presence of the artist. Emmanuel Suard, Counsellor of the French Embassy in Berlin and Director of the Institut FrançaisDeutschland, will give a welcoming address. Prof Robert Fleck, Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, will introduce the exhibition.

Time and place: 18:15, Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz, Theaterplatz.

Premiere of the theatre play "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" by Tilo Schiemenz, based on the fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm. Tom Quaas is responsible for the production, the author for the stage and costumes. Information: www.theater-chemnitz.de

Sunday, 24 November

The play "Findelkind" for children aged four and over has its premiere. Author Klaus Frenzel is also directing. Information: www.theater-chemnitz.de

Time and place: 10 am, puppet theatre in the Schauspielhaus.

Concert evening by the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Orchestra with vocal soloists: the oratorio "The Last Things" by Louis Spohr (1784-1859) will be performed.

Time and place: 5 p.m., St. Petrikirche, Theaterplatz.
