Monday, 18 August
Mayor Miko Runkel welcomes the participants of the 41st International University Course for German Language on behalf of the Lord Mayoress. After the discussion, doorman Stefan Weber guides the guests through the town hall.
The course is organised by Chemnitz University of Technology. Two of the 32 participants come from Manchester, Chemnitz's British twin city.

Wednesday, 20 August
The Free State of Saxony has finalised its investigation into the electrification and expansion of the Chemnitz - Leipzig line. Economics Minister Sven Morlok will present the results of the planning study to Mayor Barbara Ludwig and the Initiative Fernbahnanbindung (long-distance railway connection initiative) and thus the way forward for connecting the industrial region to the long-distance railway network.

Mayor Barbara Ludwig visits craft businesses in Chemnitz together with district councillors and representatives of the Chemnitz Chamber of Crafts.

Friday, 22 August
Mayor Barbara Ludwig takes part in the official opening ceremony of the new Siemens AG production site in Chemnitz. The Prime Minister of Saxony is expected to attend on behalf of the Free State of Saxony.
Time and place: 10 a.m., Leipziger Strasse Industrial Park.
