Mayor Barbara Ludwig will give a welcome address at the opening of the exhibition "Schicht im Schacht. The Wismut art collection - an inventory."

Guided tour of the town hall by Türmer Stefan Weber for students from Chemnitz Dr.-Wilhelm-André-Gymnasium and guest students from Indonesia, who are expected to spend two weeks in Chemnitz at the grammar school (PM 591 from 13.08.2013).

Friday, 20 September

The traditional MDR Figaro Nacht event will be broadcast live from the Chemnitz Opera House. Performers include the singer Malia, this year's winner of the "Echo Jazz Award", the MDR Symphony Orchestra and the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Orchestra.

Saturday, 21 September

Mayor Barbara Ludwig visits the Special Olympics Saxony Swimming Festival for mentally and multiply disabled swimmers organised under her patronage. The event is organised by the Association for the Promotion of Integration through Sport e. V.
Time and place: 10.30 a.m., "Am Südring" indoor swimming pool.

Opening of the Intercultural Weeks 2013 by Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig and the Saxon Commissioner for Foreigners Prof. Dr Martin Gillo (PM 593 from 13.09.2013).

Time and place: 12 noon, stage on the Neumarkt.

Chemnitz hosts the European Championships in Standard and Latin American Dancing organised under the patronage of the Lord Mayor.

Mayor Philipp Rochold visits the 4th line dance world record attempt by line dance clubs from Chemnitz, Oelsnitz/Erzgebirge and Aue/Schneeberg.
