Mayor Barbara Ludwig is patron of the classic Erzgebirgsrundfahrt and takes part in the award ceremony. This major cycling event is now in its 37th edition. It is regarded as the toughest one-day race in Germany. This is a Bundesliga cycling race. The organiser is the Chemnitz Police Sports Club.
