Monday, 15 April
Company visit by Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig to RAILBETON HAAS KG.

Mayor Barbara Ludwig accepts the invitation to the annual reception of the Chemnitz Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
Time and place: 5 p.m., Straße der Nationen 25, 09111 Chemnitz.
Halle Ousmane, Mayor of Timbuktu, Chemnitz's twin city in Mali, is expected to visit Chemnitz from 15 to 22 April 2013. Mayor Ludwig will welcome her counterpart and receive him for talks.

Tuesday, 16 April

Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig opens and moderates the public event "Opportunities for civic participation in Chemnitz" (press release 161 of 9 April 2013).
Time and place: 5.30 pm, Chemnitz City Hall, City Council Chamber.
Neighbourhood and citizens' initiatives and associations will be presenting themselves in the foyer from 5 pm.
Wednesday, 17 April

8th Symphony Concert of the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Orchestra: The programme on 17 and 18 April also includes the world premiere of "Das Haus der Temperamente" by Torsten Rasch. The suite from the opera "The Duchess of Malfi", which had its German premiere at the Chemnitz Opera on 23 March 2013, was commissioned by the Chemnitz Theatre.

Friday, 19 April
Mayor Barbara Ludwig, Chairwoman of the Zweckverband Sächsisches Industriemuseum, will give a welcome address at the opening of the special exhibition "Reiz & Scham - Dessous. 150 Jahre Kulturgeschichte der Unterwäsche". The exhibition organised by the Rhineland Regional Industrial Museum, Ratingen and the Saxon Industrial Museum Chemnitz features over 600 exhibits, including items on loan from other museums, private collections and companies as well as private donations.

Premiere of the world premiere of "Das Weiß an den Rändern der Nacht". Alexandra Wilke is responsible for the production of the play by Anne Nather, which was commissioned by Chemnitz Municipal Theatre.

Mayor Barbara Ludwig takes part in the Sport Chemmy awards ceremony for Chemnitz's best sportswomen and sportsmen.

Premiere of Edward Albee's "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?". Carsten Knödler, the new theatre director in Chemnitz from August 2013, is responsible for the production of the psychological chamber play.
