Wednesday, 16 July
Mayor Barbara Ludwig takes part in the meeting of the Presidium of the Saxon Association of Towns and Municipalities.
Time and place: 8.30 a.m., Dresden.
Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig chairs the constituent meeting of the new Chemnitz City Council: The members of the body elected as a result of the 2014 local elections will convene for this first meeting at the start of the new legislative period.
At the meeting, the long-serving councillors will be honoured with an entry in the Golden Book of the City of Chemnitz.

Thursday, 17 July
The district festival with music, talent show and stage programme, bouncy castle, roller slide and lots of hands-on activities, especially for children, takes place in the Reitbahnviertel in front of the Annenschule. The district festival is organised by the district management Reitbahnviertel/ Bürgerplattform Chemnitz-Mitte together with Arbeiterwohlfahrt Kreisverband Chemnitz und Umgebung e.V.
Time and place: 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., area at Annenstraße 23.
Mayor Barbara Ludwig and Herbert Wolff, State Secretary in the Saxon State Ministry of Culture, will attend the topping-out ceremony for the largest school construction project in the city of Chemnitz, the Special Education Support Centre - Chemnitz School for the Physically Disabled.

Rock am Kopp #3: In Chemnitz, Leipzig-based Ronny Trettmann - one of Germany's most successful reggae & dancehall acts - will rock the third edition of the monthly event in the City of Chemnitz's "Die Stadt bin ich" campaign after MC Fitti, I Heart Sharks and Still Trees.

The KOMM! summer workshop programme includes an invitation to the labyrinth of lights on the Chemnitz Brühl. The summer workshop organised by the Saxon Mozart Society from 18 to 25 July, which includes a concert in Chomutov in the Czech Republic on 23 July and in the Polish twin city of Lodz on 25 July, is also sponsored by the City of Chemnitz via the local action plan for democracy, tolerance and a cosmopolitan Chemnitz.
