Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig accepts the invitation of the Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Germany, Dr Nguyen Thi Hoang Anh, to a working meeting.

Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig takes part in the festive event to mark the change at the top of the Bundesbank branch in Chemnitz: Wolfgang Feiler took over as manager on 1 March, succeeding Erich Schwarzwälder, who headed the branch for around eight years and retired at the end of February.

The 7th symphony concert will feature the piano concerto by composer Viktor Ullmann, who was murdered in Auschwitz in 1944, and will also mark the 23rd Days of Jewish Culture. In addition, the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Dietrich Henschel, will perform "Ballade für Orchester: HUNDERT KOMMA NULL", another work by this year's portrait composer Iris ter Schiphorst (born 1956).

Start of construction for the new skate park in Konkordiapark with the symbolic ground-breaking ceremony by Mayor Petra Wesseler (PM 101 from 27 February 2014).

Mayor Barbara Ludwig takes part in a panel discussion organised by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation on the topic of municipal finances.

Film premiere: The well-known Chemnitz filmmaker Beate Kunath presents her new documentary film "This one day together". Women from Chemnitz's twin towns are expected to attend the premiere. The film will also be shown in the programme of the Chemnitz International Women's Day celebrations.

Friday, 14 March
Mayor Barbara Ludwig will give a welcoming address at the Chemnitz event to mark International Women's Day (PM 94 from 21.02.2014).

Premiere of the world premiere of "Kafka", a dramatisation of the life and work of the poet Franz Kafka by Stefan Wolfram, who is also responsible for the production. Information: www.theater-chemnitz.de
