The Chemlympics - the special sports festival for adults with disabilities - takes place. The event is organised by the Chemnitz City Sports Association together with the Miteinander statt Gegeneinander association.

"Faust I" - The tragedy by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe has its premiere. This production is being staged in co-operation with the Chemnitz Ballet. The director is Carsten Knödler.
