Schedule for the period from 16 December 2013 until 5 January 2014

Tuesday, 17 December
Mayor Barbara Ludwig invites you to her weekly press conference.
Time and place: 2 pm, Chemnitz City Hall.

Premiere of the theatre play "Benefiz - Jeder rettet einen Afrikaner", a satire by Ingrid Lausund. Kathrin Brune is responsible for the production.

Wednesday, 18 December

Public meeting of the Chemnitz City Council.

Time and place: 3 p.m., Chemnitz City Hall, City Council Chamber.

Saturday, 21 December

Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig attends the Christmas charity concert organised by the BMW Chemnitz branch. The theme of this year's concert is "South American Christmas". Information: www.schloss.kirche-chemnitz.de

Time and place: 5 p.m., Chemnitz Castle Church.

Tuesday, 31 December

Concert by the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Orchestra at the turn of the year: As is tradition, Beethoven's "Ninth" is on the programme. The conductor is Felix Bender.

Time and place: 5pm and 8pm, Opera House.

Note: Another performance is scheduled for Wednesday, 1 January 2014, 6 pm.

New Year's Eve party at the Schauspielhaus: This year's New Year's Eve party will be held after the 8pm performance of Woody Allen's "Midsummer Night's Sex Comedy". Time and place: from 10.30 pm, theatre, foyer.

Saturday, 4 January

Chemnitz Cup in indoor football: For the eleventh edition of the annual traditional event, the host Chemnitzer FC is once again leading the line-up.

Time and place: Start 3 pm (admission from 2 pm), Chemnitz Arena.

The traditional New Year's concert of the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Orchestra is on the programme on Saturday and Sunday. Karl-Heinz Bloemecke is the conductor.

Time and place: 7:30 pm (4 Jan.) and 10:30 am (5 Jan.), Opera House.

The Mayor's first regular press conference in the new year is scheduled for Tuesday, 7 January 2014.
