On Saturday, 5 April at 10.30 a.m., Saxony's Energy Minister Dirk Panter will open the Saxon Energy Days on the premises of inetz GmbH at Heizkraftwerk Nord, Blankenburgstraße 2. This will be followed by a panel discussion entitled "Safely into the future. With renewables", in which Dirk Panter, Mayor Knut Kunze, the Chairman of the Board of the Saxony Consumer Advice Centre, Andreas Eichhorst, and the Managing Director of inetz GmbH, Jörg Scheibe, will take part.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., more than 20 companies and initiatives will be presenting their renewable energy solutions at the Market of Opportunities. This will be complemented by specialist presentations and guided tours of the site. All offers are free of charge. There will also be special activities for children and catering.
Various presentations will take place on the site from 12 noon to 4 pm. For example, the Saxon Energy Agency will be presenting its services at 12 noon. At 1.30 pm, JUWI GmbH will present the topic of wind energy under the title "Wind energy moves! How is a wind farm created and who benefits from it?". In addition, eins energie in sachsen GmbH & Co KG (eins) and inetz GmbH are offering guided tours of the eins battery storage facility and the HKW Nord site. These are suitable for people aged 14 and over. The tours are limited to 15 people each and last around one hour. The tours of the HKW Nord site start at 10 am, 12.15 pm, 1.30 pm and 2.45 pm. A guided tour of the one battery storage facility is offered at 10 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. respectively.
Interested parties can already register for the guided tours of the site at 10 a.m. and 2.45 p.m. and for the tour of the battery storage facility at 12.30 p.m. at www.mitdenken.sachsen.de/-umuiAAR4. Registration is possible on site for the other tours.
There are only limited parking spaces available at the event location. Alternatively, free parking is available at the Schönherrfabrik or by public transport (bus 22 or 23).
The Saxon Energy Days will take place from 5 April to 26 April 2025. They are organised by the Saxon State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Energy and Climate Protection (SMWA). Companies and initiatives throughout Saxony will open their doors and make renewable energies accessible to citizens. The opening of the Saxon Energy Days in Chemnitz is organised by the SMWA in close cooperation with the Environmental Agency of the City of Chemnitz, Verbraucherzentrale Sachsen e. V., eins and inetz GmbH.
