On Friday, 6 February at 11 a.m. - just in time for the start of the holidays - Mayor Thomas Kütter will hand over the playground at the Sandweg/Rosenhag junction in Borna-Heinersdorf. Due to the weather conditions, only a technical discussion between Mayor Thomas Kütter and the local volunteer playground patrons on the topic of "Playing in residential areas" will take place at the opening.
Representatives of the media are invited to attend.
Work on the partial renovation of the playground began on 21 November 2025. Among other things, the old play equipment in the play area was dismantled and replaced with new equipment. In particular, a play tower with a slide and various climbing options will offer a variety of challenges and play opportunities for the children in the neighbourhood in future. The sandpit was also rebuilt.
In order to preserve the valuable old trees surrounding the playground, the edging of the playground was retained and only minimal changes were made to the existing structure.
The total costs amount to approx. 58,000 euros and include both the landscaping work and the playground equipment. The work was carried out by TechnoFarm und Service GmbH.
