Runners from five Chemnitz twin cities take part in the 7th Chemnitz Marathon
Once again this year, enthusiastic runners from Chemnitz's twin cities will be taking part in the Chemnitz Marathon: on Saturday, 5 July at 10 a.m. in Chemnitz city centre. For example, 20 runners from Lodz in Poland and 18 from Usti nad Labem in the Czech Republic, five from the French twin city of Mulhouse and 11 from the North Rhine-Westphalian state capital of Düsseldorf will be starting in Chemnitz city centre at 10 a.m. on Saturday, 5July. For the second time, seven runners from Taiyuan, Chemnitz's Chinese twin city, will also be taking part in this year's 7th Chemnitz Marathon.
The stay of the athletes from the twin cities will once again be organised and supervised by employees of the International Relations Department of the City of Chemnitz. The runners are expected to arrive in Chemnitz on Friday, 4 July: they will be staying at the Chemnitz eins/City Hostel and the Hotel Mercure Kongress and will later also take part in the "Noodle Party" traditionally held by the marathon organisers in the Galerie Roter Turm on the day before the marathon. On the day after the Chemnitz Marathon - another tradition - there will once again be a themed city tour for the guests from the twin cities: this time, city guide Grit Linke will present the Kaßberg district, as requested by the participants in advance.

About the Chemnitz Marathon: The race will once again run through Chemnitz city centre towards the city park and back; four laps must be completed for the marathon distance. The Chemnitz Marathon running event is a non-profit project of all Lions Clubs in Chemnitz and the Saxon Leo Clubs and is one of the highlights of the Chemnitz running calendar. Running event in September: For the first time this year, runners from Chemnitz will take part in a marathon on 13 September in the Chinese twin city of Taiyuan.
