Construction work between Albert-Schweitzer-Straße and Am Karbel requires temporary traffic restrictions

Inthe area of Rudolf-Krahl-Straße between Albert-Schweitzer-Straße and Am Karbel, the carriageway is being completely resurfaced. The work will repair winter damage and also make the two bus stop areas accessible to the disabled.
Chemnitzer Verkehrsbau GmbH has been commissioned to carry out the work.
The contract is worth €150,000.

As announced in the current construction site information, the civil engineering office's construction project will start on Monday (17 June). The work will be carried out in two sections in order to minimise the temporary traffic restrictions for residents and all other road users in the area. The traffic authority asks for your attention and understanding.

During the first construction phase from 17 June to 24 June, the two bus stop areas located in the construction zone will be made accessible to the disabled. The kerbs will be raised and studded plates will be installed at the boarding area (to the bus).
Pedestrians are requested to use the other side of the road in the construction area during the work. Traffic will be restricted to one lane on both sides of the road.

In the subsequent second construction phase from 24 June to 5 July, Rudolf-Krahl-Straße will be completely resurfaced in the above-mentioned area. Please note and understand that the carriageway will have to be completely closed for this. However, pedestrians can use the pavement as usual during the construction work. Diversion route: Traffic will be diverted via Am Karbel and Albert-Schweitzer-Straße. Larger vehicles over 3.5 tonnes should use the signposted diversion via Limbacher Straße - Beyerstraße - Paul-Jäkel-Straße - Flemmingstraße.
