The Nischel is rocking again: on Saturday 19 July, Ronny Trettmann, one of Germany's most successful reggae and dancehall acts, will be coming to Brückenstraße for the third edition of "Rock am Kopp". The event is expected to start at 7.30 pm in summer weather. As always, admission is free.

For Ronny Trettmann, it's also a return to his own roots, says the singer. "I still remember how I used to breakdance with my crew here at Karl-Marx-Kopf." Musically, the people of Chemnitz can look forward to a "colourful bouquet" of reggae, dance-hall, hip-hop but also harder sounds from Trettmann's early years. "I'm looking forward to people coming from the baths and the reservoir so we can party together."

This time, the event is being made possible by a team of sponsors from AOK Plus, enviaM and GGG.

"Just like the city, we want to appeal to and inspire young people. We are united in this and that's why we are happy to work together," says Anja Dietel, Regional Managing Director of AOK Plus, explaining the reasons for the collaboration.

Sven Schulze, Head of Corporate Communications/Environmental Management for enviaM, adds: "The people of Chemnitz are characterised by the fact that they help themselves. As a regional company, we are therefore happy to support the campaign for our city."

Erik Escher, press spokesman for GGG, on the concert series: "'Rock am Kopp' is an original idea to draw attention to our city with the most striking face of Chemnitz. The positive feedback and the many visitors clearly show what Chemnitz has to offer. As the city's housing company, we are very, very happy to support such activities that bring life and vigour to our city."

The concerts in May and June have already attracted over 7500 fans and curious visitors to the Karl Marx Monument.

The "Rock am Kopp" concert series is part of the "The city is me" communication campaign. Once a month from May to September, a band or artist will perform on a small stage in front of a large backdrop and delight the Chemnitz audience with an approximately one-hour concert. The event is organised by Chemnitz cult club Atomino.
