Roadworks on the Helbersdorfer Straße
Please note full closure between Scheffelstraße and Friedrich-Hähnel-Straße from Friday (22 August) to Wednesday (27 August)
From Friday, roadworks will be carried out on Helbersdorfer Straße between Scheffelstraße and Friedrich-Hähnel-Straße on behalf of the city's civil engineering department. Milling work will begin on the road section on Friday, followed by the necessary preparatory work from Saturday to Monday (adjustment of fixtures, manhole covers, gullies, etc.) so that the asphalt can be laid on Tuesday (26 August) and Wednesday (27 August).
The road section is expected to be open to traffic again from Thursday (28 August). Road users will then only have to expect temporary restrictions for the final road marking work.
The city's traffic authority asks road users to note that due to the current roadworks, Helbersdorfer Straße must be fully closed in the aforementioned section from Friday (22 August) until Wednesday (27 August). The signposted diversion will be via Scheffelstraße - Stollberger Straße - Friedrich-Hähnel-Straße - Wenzel-Verner-Straße.
The current construction work is part of the extensive sewer and road construction work on Helbersdorfer Straße, which began at the end of July and will be completed by the end of October (see press release 415 dated 17 July 2014). The Chemnitz-based company Gunter Hüttner + Co. GmbH has been commissioned to carry out the construction work, which is expected to cost 450,000 euros.
