Road surface on the Weißer Weg is being renewed
Construction work between the bend and Beutenbergstraße begins on 1 July
From Monday, 1 July, the cracked and worn road surface on Weißer Weg between Verschwenkung and Beutenbergstraße will be repaired on behalf of the traffic and civil engineering department.
Two construction phases are planned for the 450 metre long section. Firstly, a transverse lane has to be widened, which will be removed again when the work is completed. When the eastern lane (in the direction of Dresdner Straße) is resurfaced, the worn verges and trench drainage will be renewed. In addition, the "Beutenbergstraße" minibus stop will be made barrier-free and the Mitnetz Strom mbH conduit system will be extended.
For the duration of the work, public traffic will be diverted past the construction site via the western lane with traffic lights.
Completion is scheduled for 27 July. The costs for the repair work amount to 200,000 euros and will be financed from municipal budget funds.
Chemnitzer Verkehrsbau GmbH, Chemnitz, has been commissioned to carry out the work.
