Road renewal on Trützschlerstraße between Harthweg and Georgenkirchweg

From Thursday 15 July, the carriageway of Trützschlerstraße between Harthweg and house number 8b will be renewed. The work is expected to take six weeks.

The carriageway will receive a base and surface course. The stop facing the city centre will be made barrier-free. The landward stop is to be upgraded in the next construction phase next year, so it will remain in its current state for the time being.

The pavements are not part of the construction work outside of the aforementioned stop.
Trützschlerstraße will be fully closed in the affected area for the construction work. The diversion in the direction of Georgenkirchweg will be via Boettcherstraße, in the direction of Oberfrohnaer Straße traffic will be routed via Louis-Schreiter-Straße (one-way system).

Traffic will be controlled by traffic lights at the Trützschlerstraße/Georgenkirchweg, Boettcherstraße/Georgenkirchweg and Louis-Schreiter-Straße/Oberfrohnaer Straße junctions. This is necessary because public transport buses need the entire area of the intersections to turn.

The existing bus stops affected in the construction area will be relocated to Trützschlerstraße between Georgenkirchweg and Kieselhausenstraße for the duration of the works. Additional bus stops will also be created in Louis-Schreiter-Straße (for the landward direction) and in Harthweg at Boettcherstraße (for the cityward direction).

The construction project will cost a total of around 260,000 euros. The company Eurovia Verkehrsbau Union GmbH Makranstädt was commissioned to carry out the work.
