Ringstrasse in Röhrsdorf is being renewed

From Monday, 22 August, a section of the carriageway on Ringstrasse in the Röhrsdorf district will be renewed. The work will be carried out in two sections. The construction work will take four weeks.
In the first section - at the exit of the Chemnitz-Center car park in the direction of Leipziger Straße towards the city - the two straight lanes towards the city and the right-turn lane to the Chemnitz-Center will be renewed. In the second section - the eastern bypass of the Chemnitz Centre in the direction of Leipziger Straße towards the city in the area of the Marktkauf store - the entire road surface will be renewed.
The road will be completely rehabilitated. All asphalt layers will be completely replaced and the subsoil will be stabilised. Work will also be carried out on the road drainage system.
The contract was awarded to the construction company STRABAG. The construction costs of the measure amount to approx. 252,000 euros (gross).
The ring road will be fully closed for the construction work. From Thursday 18 August, temporary roadworks will be put in place to divert traffic.
The diversion will run from Marktkauf via Ringstraße to Wildparkstraße, Ringstraße on to Röhrsdorfer Allee and back to the access road to the Chemnitz Centre.
Roadworks traffic lights will be installed at the junction of Ringstraße/Röhrsdorfer Allee and at the access road to the Chemnitz Centre.
The Chemnitz Center car park can be used without restriction. There is also no need to relocate public transport stops.
