Residents' meeting for the entire city area
Invitation: on 11 May, 5 to 7 p.m. in the Town Hall, City Council Chamber, 2nd floor
On Thursday, 11 May, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., all Chemnitz residents are invited to a residents' meeting in the town hall.
Mayor Sven Schulze, the mayoress and the mayors will provide information on current developments and key projects in the first part of the event. Afterwards, participants can find out more and address their concerns to the employees of the City of Chemnitz. In addition, contact persons from the European Capital of Culture 2025 GmbH, Chemnitz transport services, the waste disposal and city cleaning company as well as citizens' platforms and community actors will be available.
Sign language interpreters will be present throughout the event to ensure that the residents' assembly is as accessible as possible. All participants will be located on the second floor to enable people with walking disabilities to attend. This can be reached by lift and without steps.
From 3.30 pm, two free guided tours of the town hall will be offered for adults and one for children. Places are limited, so please register either online via the City of Chemnitz's participation portal or by calling the Mayor's Office on 0371 488 1512.
The guided tours are also accessible (except for the tour of the tower).
As usual, no registration is required to attend the residents' assembly itself. Childcare is also available if required.
An important concern is to involve young residents more in participation processes. The coordinator for child and youth participation is therefore particularly looking forward to their questions, suggestions and ideas.
In future, the plan is to offer two residents' meetings per year for the entire city area. These are to be continuously improved and made more attractive in order to reach and inform as many people as possible. For this reason, all citizens and stakeholders will be given plenty of space to express their wishes, suggestions and constructive criticism.
