Residents' meeting for the entire city area

Invitation: on 21 November, 5 to 7 pm, in the Town Hall, City Council Chamber and other rooms, 1st and 2nd floor

On Thursday, 21 November, from 5 to 7 pm, all residents of Chemnitz are invited to a residents' meeting at the town hall, Markt 1.

Mayor Sven Schulze, the mayoress and the mayors will provide information on current developments and key projects in the first part, including

  • Outlook for the Capital of Culture year 2025
  • School network planning and digital pact schools
  • Public safety
  • Framework plan for the city centre
  • Neefestraße construction project
  • Forestry facilities, tree planting, living neighbourhood

Afterwards, from around 6 p.m., participants can address their concerns directly to the representatives of the administration and the city's stakeholders and enter into dialogue. In addition to representatives of the City of Chemnitz, contact persons from the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 gGmbH, the Chemnitz public transport company (CVAG), the waste disposal and city cleaning company (ASR) as well as the citizens' platforms and community activists will also be available for discussions.

In order to make the event as accessible as possible, sign language interpreters will be present during the first part. A hearing loop will also be installed in the audience gallery to enable people with hearing aids to hear better.
The event rooms on the first and second floors can be reached using the newly modernised lift. The lift is equipped with a bilingual audio announcement and Braille buttons.
As usual, no registration is required for participation.

Two free guided tours of the town hall will be offered from 3.30 pm . Places are limited, so registration is required. This is possible via the participation portal of the City of Chemnitz https://mitdenken.sachsen.de/1045905 or by calling the Mayor's office on 0371 488 1512.
The tours are barrier-free except for the tower tour (200 steps).
