Residents' meeting for the Chemnitz West urban area

Date: Friday, 18 October, 5 p.m., Haus des Gastes Reichenbrand, Zwickauer Straße 485

Residents' assemblies are a well-established tradition in Chemnitz: every two years, invitations are sent out to provide information on current developments in the respective city area, to answer citizens' questions and at the same time to discuss suggestions and proposals from citizens and incorporate them into the further work of the administration and its specialised departments. Mayor Barbara Ludwig and the Chemnitz City Council are inviting citizens from the Chemnitz West area to the residents' meeting for the Chemnitz West area on Friday, 18 October. The venue is the Haus des Gastes Reichenbrand, Zwickauer Straße 485 in 09117 Chemnitz.

The residents' meeting will begin as usual at 5 pm. Citizens and representatives of the media are once again invited to find out about the wide range of services offered by the offices and facilities of the City of Chemnitz at information stands from 4.30 pm onwards.

Part 1 of the agenda for the Chemnitz West residents' meeting for residents of the districts of Rottluff, Schönau, Stelzendorf, Rabenstein, Siegmar, Reichenbrand, Mittelbach and Grüna includes information from the Lord Mayor, the Mayoress and the Mayors on planned plans and projects. Topics include the evaluation of the flood events in June and planned measures to improve flood protection, school refurbishments in the west of Chemnitz and the topic of roads and cycle paths. As usual, part 2 of the residents' meeting will be open to questions, opinions and suggestions from the public.

The Haus des Gastes can be reached by public transport to the Kirche Reichenbrand stop (from the central stop with tram line 1 with a change to bus 41, from the Grüna district with bus 41 or 126, from the Mittelbach district with bus 152 or 251 - for details see the invitation to the residents' meeting in the appendix).

There is disabled access to the venue and disabled parking spaces are also available. Childcare will be provided free of charge in a room in the Haus des Gastes.
