Residents' meeting for the Chemnitz North-East urban area

Date: Friday, 9 May, 5 p.m., St Mark's Church, Pestalozzistrasse 1

Residents' assemblies are a well-established tradition in Chemnitz: every two years, invitations are sent out to provide information on current developments in the respective city area, to answer citizens' questions and at the same time to discuss suggestions and proposals from citizens and incorporate them into the further work of the administration and its specialised departments. Mayor Barbara Ludwig and the City Council are inviting citizens to the residents' meeting for the Chemnitz North-East urban area on Friday, 9 May. The venue is St Mark's Church in the Sonnenberg district, Pestalozzistraße 1, 09130 Chemnitz (Annex). The residents' meeting will begin as usual at 5 pm. Citizens and representatives of the media are once again invited to find out about the wide range of services offered by the City of Chemnitz's offices and facilities at information stands from 4.30 pm onwards.

Part 1 of the agenda for the Chemnitz North-East residents' meeting for the residents of the Sonnenberg, Hilbersdorf and Ebersdorf districts includes information from the Lord Mayor, the Mayoress and the Mayors on planned plans and projects. Topics include urban development projects, the Chemnitz model (current status of the main railway station construction project and the tunnel to Sonnenberg) and the current status of issues relating to the initial reception centre for asylum seekers. As usual, part 2 of the residents' meeting will be open to questions, opinions and suggestions from the public.

St Mark's Church is easily accessible by public transport using bus routes 21 (to the Fürstenstraße stop) and 31 (to the Uhlandstraße stop) - see the attached invitation for details. There is disabled access to the venue and disabled parking spaces are also available. If required, childcare will be provided free of charge in the kindergarten at Martinstraße 17; if required, please register by 6 May for planning purposes - contact the Citizens' Office on 0371/488-1508, -1512, -1516 or by e-mail at buergerbuero(at)stadt-chemnitz.de
