Residents' meeting for residents of the Würschnitz
Date: Wednesday, 28 November, 6 pm, Krystallpalast Klaffenbach
Guests and expert speakers from the state authorities are Professor Martin Socher, Head of the Flood Department at the Saxon State Ministry for the Environment and Agriculture, and Christian Zschammer, Head of the State Reservoir Administration. The city administration will be represented at the residents' meeting by Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig with the responsible specialist mayors Petra Wesseler and Miko Runkel and Civil Engineering Office Manager Bernd Gregorzyk. After introductory speeches and information, the representatives of the state and city will be available to answer citizens' questions.
Since the floods in August 2010, information events have been held for residents in all areas affected by the floods, as well as discussions between representatives of the administration and members of the Würschnitz flood protection citizens' initiative. The residents' meeting on 28 November 2012 is being held on the initiative of the Mayor of Chemnitz, who announced at the citizens' meeting in September 2010 in the Krystallpalast Klaffenbach and invited residents to meet again in two years at the same location to discuss the results achieved so far in terms of flood protection over the past two years and at the same time to provide information about future measures.
