Report on the implementation of measures from the Investment Strengthening Act 2017

The following road construction measures were implemented as part of the federal/state "Bridges to the future" funding programme:

As part of the noise reduction measures, Frankenberger Straße in the section from Ebersdorfer Höhe to the end of the town was resurfaced from 26 June to 28 July 2017 and Erdmannsdorfer Straße in the section from Comeniusstrasse to the end of the road in Chemnitz from 1 March to 9 October 2017.
Low-noise asphalt was laid on Frankenberger Straße at the same time as the asphalt binder course was renewed. On Erdmannsdorfer Straße, the original small paved surface was replaced with asphalt concrete.

The following bus stops were converted to make them barrier-free:

  • Hechlerstraße, conversion from 28 August to 20 October 2017
  • Wartburghof, conversion from 7 August to 8 September 2017
  • Konradstraße, conversion from 11 August to 7 September 2017

The following construction projects are in preparation for the coming year:

  • The Karl-Schmidt-Rottluff-Brücke/Kaßbergauffahrt bridge is to be repaired from 26 March 2018 until probably mid-October 2019.
  • The Südring carriageway in the section from Markersdorfer Straße to Helbersdorfer Straße is to be renewed during the 2018 summer holidays. Work is scheduled to begin on 25 June 2018 and end at the beginning of August 2018. The relevant diversion routes and traffic restrictions will be announced in good time in separate press releases.
