Repair of Rabenstein viaduct begins

This week saw the start of preparatory work for the repair of the viaduct in Rabenstein. Direct construction work on the viaduct is expected to begin at the end of April.

The associated traffic restrictions will be announced in good time as soon as the final construction schedule is available. It is expected that there will be full closures in the area of the viaduct on two weekends due to scaffolding erection and dismantling.

During the construction period, which will last until summer 2022, one side of Oberfrohnaer Straße will be closed with traffic lights.
In addition, the footpath on the viaduct will probably not be accessible for pedestrians.

The total cost of the repairs is 2.6 million euros, of which the Free State of Saxony is providing 1.5 million euros from the former GDR party assets.

The construction work is being carried out by the company Krause & Co from Neukirchen-Adorf.
