Reopening of the Gablenz indoor swimming pool

Mayor Sven Schulze is hosting a press event at the renovated Gablenz indoor swimming pool next Wednesday, 4 April at 11 am. The meeting point is in the entrance foyer.
Contrary to media reports to the contrary, the Gablenz indoor swimming pool will reopen on Monday, 9 April, as announced.
As part of the extensive refurbishment of the Gablenz indoor swimming pool, the ventilation and water technology, the electrical systems, the entire swimming pools, the sound acoustics, the changing areas, the glass façade and the roofing were modernised. The fire protection system was also brought up to date.
The building shell and outdoor facilities will be completed by the summer, depending on the weather. The renovation of the changing areas, which was initially planned for 2019, was brought forward into the ongoing construction work so that further closures for pool visitors and clubs could be avoided in the coming year.
From Monday, 16 April, the weekend opening times in the municipal pool and the "Am Südring" indoor swimming pool will change as part of the opening of the Gablenz indoor pool. (see PM 225)
