Renovation of the Hölderlinstrasse play and leisure centre
Start of construction work on 15 March
From Monday 15 March, the Hölderlinstraße play and leisure facility will be renovated.
As part of the listed "Am Waldrand" housing estate of the Eisenbahner-Baugenossenschaft (1926), the facility is to be preserved as far as possible in its original form and upgraded with new play features.
The old, worn-out play equipment will be replaced by a new combination of equipment from Kompan GmbH and is expected to be installed in May. The selection was made by a working group with the involvement of the children's representatives, who decided in favour of a large climbing combination with a double swing and a rotating element (spinner) in the interests of the users.
The path areas will be resurfaced with a colour-coordinated surface as part of the upgrade.
Once the work has been completed, the facility will have to remain closed for a while, partly to allow the foundations to harden and to ensure the stability of the path surface, so that it can probably be used again from the end of June.
The construction costs amount to approx. 103,000 euros. The work is being carried out by the company Massiv- und Industriebau GmbH.
