Today, Tuesday 30 September, from 4 to 6 p.m., the City of Chemnitz Equal Opportunities Officer, Franziska Herold, together with the Frauenhilfe Chemnitz e.V. association, is calling on people to commemorate victims of domestic violence. Chemnitz residents are invited to light candles at the event on Neumarkt square. Mayor Thomas Kütter will be present as a representative of the City of Chemnitz and will also light a candle.
The reason for the commemoration is a homicide last Wednesday in Chemnitz, in which a 38-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her husband.
