"Reichsbürger" - ridiculed eccentrics or political extremists?

The Chemnitz Adult Education Centre and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation invite you to a discussion event on 13 November from
7 to 9 p.m. to a discussion event on the much-debated topic of "Reichsbürger" at the TIETZ, Veranstaltungssaal. 3rd floor. The focus of the evening will be a lecture by Dirk Wilking, who has published a handbook on "Reichsbürger" as a consultant at the Brandenburg Institute for Community Counselling. Admission is free. So-called "Reichsbürger" have existed since the founding of the Federal Republic of Germany, but in recent months they have been attracting more public attention due to their conspicuous behaviour, some of which is relevant under criminal law. For example, "Reich citizens" consider the FRG to be an "unlawful state", do not recognise any courts or authorities and have their own "Reich ID cards". In the meantime, the authorities are increasingly observing links to right-wing extremist orientations and groups.
The evening will examine the following questions, among others: How dangerous are Reichsbürger really? Are they more likely to be conspiracy theorists or a new form of right-wing extremist group?
