Regular operation in daycare centres and after-school care centres

From tomorrow, the daycare centres and after-school care centres of the city of Chemnitz will resume regular operations.

According to the current Saxon Corona Protection Ordinance, the following regulations apply:

The existing hygiene measures must continue to be implemented. After-school children may attend their original after-school centre again.

The Youth Welfare Office of the City of Chemnitz recommends continuing to refrain from working according to open concepts in order to prevent a broad mix of children in the facilities and to enable contact tracing.

Accompanying persons for dropping off and picking up children are granted access to the premises of child daycare centres and schools (including buildings) even without proof of a negative test.

For longer stays in the facilities, testing is still mandatory for educational staff, employees and parents. Vaccinated or recovered persons are equal to tested persons and are allowed to enter the facilities. Persons who have not been vaccinated or have not recovered must present a negative test certificate from an organisation responsible for taking the test. The educational staff or employees of the centre must be tested twice a week on site by trained staff or under supervision. The centre is responsible for checking the evidence.

Educators who are fully vaccinated or have recovered (up to a maximum of six months after the first positive test) do not have to be tested and do not have to be quarantined in the event of a positive case at the centre.
