Registration of first-year pupils for the 2021/2022 school year
On 9 and 15 September 2020 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the desired municipal primary school
Children born between 1 July 2014 and 30 June 2015 will be required to attend school at the start of the 2021/2022 school year. Registration will take place on 9 and 15 September 2020 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the desired municipal primary school in the relevant school district. The currently valid statutes of the City of Chemnitz for determining the school districts can be viewed at www.chemnitz.de
If parents would like to register their child at an independent primary school, this must be communicated in writing to a municipal primary school in the relevant school district by 15 September 2020. The registration deadlines for independent primary schools can be obtained directly from them.
The presence of a custodial parent who must present the following documents is sufficient for enrolment
- Fully completed registration form (available at www.chemnitz.de as well as from the education authority and the local primary schools)
- Identity card of the registering parent
- Birth certificate of the child starting school
- in the case of sole custody: proof required
Please note that Heinrich Heine Primary School is located at Comeniusstraße 1 due to construction work. Here, registration takes place in the Comeniusstraße 1 building. In addition, the Klaffenbach primary school is relocated to the Einsiedel primary school due to construction work,
Harthauer Weg 5 due to construction. Registration will therefore take place at Klaffenbach town hall, Klaffenbacher Hauptstraße 73.
For the new Planitzwiese primary school, located next to the Terra Nova Campus, registration will take place at the Media Education Centre, Ritterstraße 7.
For the new primary school on Charlottenstraße, registration takes place at the J.-A.-Comenius-Grundschule, Comeniusstraße 1.
