Register noisy events for 2025
Applications for so-called rare events are still possible until 31 August
Organisers are requested to apply for their events to be classified as rare events for 2025 in writing or by email by 31 August 2024 at the latest. This applies in particular to events with music that extend into the night-time period, after 10 p.m., and thus disturb the peace at night.

In September 2023, Chemnitz City Council adopted a new concept for dealing with events in Chemnitz with a focus on the city centre (B-129/2023). The concept includes the number of events in the city centre that are expected to exceed the generally applicable noise protection guidelines based on experience, so-called rare events.
Accordingly, Chemnitz city centre is divided up for events (rare events) as follows:
- Event area I southern city centre: 14 events
- Event area II northern city centre: 10 events
- Event area III western city centre: 14 events
In the city districts that are not affected by the event areas, 14 "rare events" per calendar year could also be defined.
Background
The concept adopted in 2023 will create a basis for action for both the City of Chemnitz and event organisers to establish a high-quality event culture in Chemnitz city centre in the medium and long term. In addition, with a view to the Capital of Culture year 2025, the City of Chemnitz will have the opportunity to utilise the available discretionary powers to allow more events to take place.
Previously, a maximum of 14 rare events per year were permitted for the city centre area and ten for the other districts. In the current concept, the city centre area is divided into three individual event areas. For each of these areas, between ten and 14 events are possible as rare events. In addition, 14 rare events per calendar year can be defined in each of the other districts outside the city centre
