Regional Culture in the TIETZ" funding programme

Small projects in the Capital of Culture Region wanted - application deadline 5 September

The regional management of the European Capital of Culture Region Chemnitz is making around 25,000 euros available for 2025 for small cultural projects that would like to present themselves on the stage at the regional showcase in the TIETZ in Chemnitz. The programme is looking for creative events by associations, artists and cultural initiatives from the 38 municipalities in the Capital of Culture Region.

The prerequisite for funding is that the initiatives apply via their respective city or municipal administration. Each municipality can be considered once. Applications can be submitted by email to anja.sauske(at)chemnitz2025.de by 5 September 2025.

Funding will be provided for events that highlight the diversity and special features of the 38 municipalities in the Capital of Culture Region. The projects should help to further strengthen the connection between the city of Chemnitz and its surrounding region and bring it to life. At the same time, they are intended to strengthen cultural exchange with other European regions.

The funding amount is up to 650 euros per project. A personal contribution is not required. However, if the total costs exceed 650 euros, further funding must be secured.

The funded projects will then take place on the stage at the regional showcase in the TIETZ - a central location where the Capital of Culture Region has been presenting itself in Chemnitz since April 2025. Until the end of the year, ten steles next to the Petrified Forest will showcase the diversity of the region. More information here.

Further information on the funding modalities and the corresponding application forms are available by email at anja.sauske(at)chemnitz2025.de or maja.laemmel(at)chemnitz2025.de.
