Refurbishment of the Karl Schmidt-Rottluff Bridge begins

Representatives of the media are invited to a joint press briefing next Tuesday, 17 April at 3 p.m. at Chemnitz City Hall, consultation room 211, by Mayor of Construction Michael Stötzer, Head of the Civil Engineering Department Bernd Gregorzyk and CVAG press spokesman Stefan Tschök. Among other things, the diversion route during the renovation work will be presented.
The renovation of the Karl-Schmidt-Rottluff Bridge is due to begin shortly. At its March meeting, the city council decided that the Karl Schmidt-Rottluff Bridge, colloquially known as the Kaßberg slip road, will be renovated from this year after all. The city council had originally planned to postpone the construction project due to the significant price increases in the tender results and to include it in another funding programme in the 2019/2020 biennial budget.
