Refurbishment and extension for Neukirchner Straße daycare centre approved
The complete refurbishment and extension of the Neukirchner Straße 7a day-care centre were approved at yesterday's city council meeting with the council's approval of draft resolution B-037/2013.
The daycare centre was built in 1960. Apart from the implementation of structural fire protection and the refurbishment of two washrooms, only maintenance measures have been carried out since then. The complete refurbishment and an extension are now urgently needed. Once the work is completed in 2015, there will be 18 more kindergarten places available, totalling 92. Places that are urgently needed. The children will also have a large multi-purpose room. From August, the little ones will move to alternative premises on Max-Türpe-Straße until their daycare centre is completed.
The total cost of the building project is 1.7 million euros.
