Redesign of the raised beds on Brückenstraße begins
On Monday, 8 April, work will begin on the raised beds at Brückenstraße 4 to 6.
The raised beds will be attractively replanted as part of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 programme. The soil will also be extensively replaced. In preparation for this, the existing plants have already been removed and some of them secured for reuse.
The planting concept for the new planting will be based on the objectives set out in the monument preservation order. In addition, the "Lobgedichte" sculptures located there will also be cleaned this year. The measures are being subsidised by budget funds approved by the Saxon state parliament.
The costs of the measure amount to around 87,000 euros.
The work was planned by landscape architects Kretzschmar und Partner, Dresden, and is being carried out by the Hohenstein Ernstthal tree nursery.
Completion is scheduled for the beginning of May 2024.
