Red light monitoring system to be installed on the Südring
In the next few days, probably next week, a new measuring system will be put into operation at the traffic lights on Südring towards Adelsbergstraße. It measures those vehicles that are still travelling in the direction of Zschopauer Straße when the signal is red.
The location was chosen because there have been many "near misses" here and unfortunately also several accidents with major material damage. The measuring system is intended to increase road safety for drivers crossing the Südring from Adelsbergstraße or turning onto the Südring.
The cost of this system is around 21,200 euros. This means that there are now nine red light monitoring systems in the city of Chemnitz.
