Many people in need of care wish to be cared for by familiar relatives in familiar surroundings. This presents working family members with challenges and numerous questions. The Caregiver Leave Act and, in particular, the Family Caregiver Leave Act, which has been in force since 2015, have further improved the labour law framework for reconciling care and work. Among other things, this has made it possible to take up to 24 months of family care leave.
